Health Benefits of Lemon Water .
I've always been a big "water drinker". I drink 2 to 4 litres of water each day, without even realising it. To enjoy additional health benefits, I've recently decided to add lemon to my drinking water. Why drink lemon water
Lemon is an inexpensive rich source of vitamin C. It also contains vitamins like vitamin B, riboflavin and minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium as well as dietary fiber, and antioxidant. Lemon is low in calories (29 calories per 100 g), one of the lowest among citrus group. Lemon juice consists of about 5% citric acid (a natural preservative) that gives a tarty taste to lemon.
The best time to take lemon water
While lemon water may be taken at any time of the day, drinking lemon water first thing in the morning has amazing benefits. Your body is literally on a fast while you are asleep and is in a mild dehydration state when you wake up. Unlike coffee which is loaded with the diuretic caffeine, lemon water can re-hydrate your body within minutes of drinking it. Many people say they feel energised quickly after drinking lemon water in the morning. It is less sugary that orange juice and a great healthy and economic way to wake you up!
Why drink lemon water
1. Boosts immune system: Because of its rich Vitamin-C content, lemon water strengthens your immune system and helps prevents illness. Vitamin-C also has healing properties.

2. Supports the digestive system: Lemon water helps your liver to produce bile which digests fat for easier absorption and elimination.
3. Promotes clear skin: Your inner health is reflected on the surface of your skin. Depending on what you feed your body, what you eat or drink may nourish or be harmful to your skin. Drinking lemon water effectively cleans your bowel of harmful waste and toxins so that with regular consumption, your skin will be healthy and blemish-free.
4. Assists with weight loss: A regular intake of lemon water promotes elimination, and it has also been studied that lemon can help you lower the absorption of sugars from the food you eat simply because of its high acidic content
Handling Snake Bites..!!!!
Symptoms:
Symptoms depend on the type of snake, but may include:
- Bleeding from wound
- Blurred vision
- Burning of the skin
- Convulsions
- Diarrhea
- Dizziness
- Excessive sweating
- Fainting
- Fang marks in the skin
- Fever
- Increased thirst
- Loss of muscle coordination
- Nausea and vomiting
- Numbness and tingling
- Rapid pulse
- Tissue death
- Severe pain
- Skin discoloration
- Swelling at the site of the bite
- Weakness
First Aid:
- Keep the person calm, reassuring them that bites can be effectively treated in an emergency room. Restrict movement, and keep the affected area below heart level to reduce the flow of venom.
- If you have a pump suction device (such as that made by Sawyer), follow the manufacturer’s directions.
- Remove any rings or constricting items because the affected area may swell. Create a loose splint to help restrict movement of the area.
- If the area of the bite begins to swell and change color, the snake was probably poisonous.
- Monitor the person’s vital signs — temperature, pulse, rate of breathing, and blood pressure — if possible. If there are signs of shock (such as paleness), lay the person flat, raise the feet about a foot, and cover the person with a blanket.
- Get medical help right away.
- Bring in the dead snake only if this can be done safely. Do not waste time hunting for the snake, and do not risk another bite if it is not easy to kill the snake. Be careful of the head when transporting it — a snake can actually bite for several hours after it’s dead (from a reflex)
DO NOT:
- Do NOT allow the person to become over-exerted. If necessary, carry the person to safety.
- Do NOT apply a tourniquet.
- Do NOT apply cold compresses to a snake bite.
- Do NOT cut into a snake bite with a knife or razor.
- Do NOT try to suck out the venom by mouth.
- Do NOT give the person stimulants or pain medications unless a doctor tells you to do so.
- Do NOT give the person anything by mouth.
- Do NOT raise the site of the bite above the level of the person’s heart.

Home Remedies for Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, you will know that it can prove to be the bane of your existence. Acne, eruptions, blackheads all come uninvited. The bad news for those who have oily skin is that you can expect breakouts and greasiness to get aggravated during your periods, pregnancy, menopause or whenever else your skin feels like doing what it wants.
The good news is that you can keep a tab on your skin with a little help from your kitchen. Here are some home remedies to treat oily skin.
Raktachandan or red sandalwood has been used for cosmetic purposes for centuries in India. “It reduces acne, scars and blemishes,” says beautician Urmila Hule. It also gives your skin a glow. Rosewater will get rid of excess oil and grime.
Fuller’s Earth or multani mitti is an excellent absorbent and it cleanses the skin of all oil. Some may find it too drying for their skin. In such cases, it should be combined with honey. “Honey is a light moisturiser. It is a much better option for oily skin than bottled moisturisers,” says beautician Manpreet Virdi.
“Tomatoes can dry out your oil glands without making your skin parched. They also get rid of pigmentation problems,” says Virdi. If you don’t have time to puree the tomatoes, simply cut them into half and slide the cut pieces over your face.
Apply a mask of egg white all over your face and neck to close pores and tighten your skin. You can also make a mask of one egg white, a teaspoon of lemon, a teaspoon of mint and half a cucumber. Blend and apply for 15-20 minutes.
Turmeric with raw milkAccording to Hule, milk that has not been boiled is a very good cleanser, especially since it has cream in it. “When combined with turmeric, it makes a great face mask for oily skin,” she says. Turmeric is antiseptic and will combat the bacteria that cause pimples.
One last tip from our expert: Hule says you should be careful when using these ingredients. “Do not trust the powders you get in the market because more often than not they will be adulterated,” she says.
